The 3Com SuperStack 3 NBX networked telephony solution delivers a robust call
processing feature set and suite of applications right over your local area
network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN). Ideal for businesses and branch
offices with up to 600 phones per location, this business communications
solution features third-generation NBX software and a new, robust
Ethernet/Fast Ethernet (10/100BASE-T) hardware platform. The SuperStack 3 NBX
solution builds on the capabilities of the industry- leading 3Com NBX 100
Communications System with high network performance, high-availability
hardware, and support for leading edge applications.
- Supports up to 750 devices, including up to 360 central office (CO)
lines
- Standards-based architecture supports legacy PSTN and LAN/WAN standards;
also, easily integrates with third-party applications
- Powerful, built-in call processing features include voice mail,
automated attendant, hunt/call groups, call detail reporting, computer
telephony integration (CTI), and unified messaging
- Robust end-to-end architecture uses Wind River's VxWorks real-time
operating system for maximum system availability; VxWorks is the same
operating system that runs life-critical pacemakers and artificial hearts,
so it ensures communications remain operational at all times
- User-friendly interfaces and Web-based administration facilitate
administrator and user programming
- Supports 72 automated attendant ports (each with support for up to 20
menu layers), 1,000 voice mailboxes, and up to 400 hours of voice mail
storage

- Enhanced availability features include resilient 10/100 Mbps Ethernet
uplink ports with fail over, optional redundant power supplies and disk
mirroring

Please Note:
- Base system requirements are the SuperStack 3 NBX V5000 call processor
and Chassis and two NBX business phones, and at least 1 PSTN interface
card if connecting to the PSTN
- Telecommuter applications require an external router with IP-ToS
support. Linking multiple sites via a WAN and ConneXtions gateways
requires a Windows NT/Win 2000 workstation to operate the ConneXtions
gateway application at each location.
